Gregory Avery

Agrees with the Tomatometer 65% of the time.

Biography:
Mr. Avery's interest in film can first be traced to his birth, in San Diego, California, on the exact same day that Leslie Stevens' film "Private Property" had its world premiere in New York City; to when his mother, a native of Idaho, was told by a relative that his choice of surname was due to having seen "too many Gregory Peck films"; and to his father, a native of Massachusetts and a lieutenant-commander in the U.S. Navy, meeting Harold Lloyd at the 1962 Cannes Film Festival. He and his sister, Marjorie, had the opportunity to live in Wisconsin, Virginia, Florida, and the San Francisco bay area before settling in southern Oregon, where they attended high school. After studying at Brigham Young University, Mr. Avery completed his college degree at S.O.S.C., after which he worked in the fields of film, television, and journalism. He has previously written about film for an Ashland, Oregon publication, from 1989 - 91. Other interests include music, art, literature, history, and current events. He currently resides in Oregon with two cats.
Favorites:
His three favorite films are "Citizen Kane", "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg", and "The Horror of Party Beach".
