Aaron Ruell (born 1976) is an American actor who grew up in Clovis, California, and is most noted for his performances as Kipland Ronald Dynamite (or Kip) in the indie movie Napoleon Dynamite. He also shot all of the promotional photography for the film and designed the opening title sequence (plates of food) of the film.
Ruell is currently filming, "On The Road With Judas" (set for 2006 release) where he plays a successful New York businessman who leads a double life as a computer thief.
Ruell is an accomplished photographer, and directs commercials. He was the only filmmaker to have two films, "Everything's Gone Green" and "Mary," which he wrote and directed, premiere at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. Ruell is currently at work on his feature film directorial debut from his own script, "Warm Blue Day." The project is not yet in production.
Since the debut of Napoleon Dynamite, Ruell has frequently been confused with the actor Kyle Dunnigan, who played Craig Pullin (aka The Truckee River Killer) on the Comedy Central series Reno 911.
