Some movies (like "The Departed" for example) don't even need plot synopses to get people into the multiplex. All they need are names like Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, and Robert De Niro -- like "The Good Shepherd" does. Jack Ryan Series Stalled at Paramount
Don't be expecting any new Jack Ryan adventures anytime soon. Seems that Paramount has put the series (or, more specifically, Tom Clancy's "Without Remorse" and "Rainbow Six") into turnaround. Which means they'll probably come back to the series some time down the road ... but not any time real soon:
