Alex Thomas is an English drummer from Lutterworth in Leicestershire. He is also known as Earl Shilton. He has played the drums in Bolt Thrower since 21 August 1997. He was only 19 when he joined. After Andy Whale left he would have been the first choice replacement, but because of his age (16 at the time) it was not possible. He has recorded Mercenary with the band and done the Into The Killing Zone tour with them.
He left Bolt Thrower in 2000, due to lack of interest.
Under the name Earl Shilton, he released an album called Two Rooms full of Insects([1]). He also played drums in Groop Dogdrill.
The new Earl Shilton album is being released later 2006 for [2].
He currently plays drums for Badly Drawn Boy.
