A pretty, soulful-looking supporting player from the Broadway stage, brunette Alma Tell co-starred opposite Donald Brian in The Smugglers (1916), a comedy in which an invaluable jewel turns up on the wrong woman. The film was an early highlight for an actress who usually played the second female lead. Like her older and better known sister, Olive Tell, Alma continued her screen career well into the sound era, playing mostly bit parts. She was married to busy B-Western villain Stanley Blystone. ~ Hans J. Wollstein, Rovi
