Anita Mui Biography

Hong Kong actress Anita Mui is often referred to as the "Madonna of Hong Kong" because of her huge success as a pop singer, as well as her sexy image. She has acted in a wide range of genres, from the gangster thrillers, to kung fu films. She is best known to American audiences for her role in the Jackie Chan action movie, Rumble in the Bronx (1995), which was released theatrically in the U.S. Her role in that film was a comedic turn as an unglamorous grocery-store manager; her performance as a commanding, intelligent Hong Kong cop in My Father is a Hero (1995) is perhaps a better showcase for her talent. ~ Jonathan E.
