Robert Perry "Bob" Golic (born October 26, 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio) is a former NFL defensive tackle who played for the New England Patriots (1979-1981), Cleveland Browns (1982-1988) and Los Angeles Raiders (1989-1992) in the NFL. He was drafted by the Patriots out of Notre Dame in the second round (52nd pick overall) of the 1979 NFL Draft. Bob was a 3-time Pro Bowler: 1985, 1986, 1987. Bob was also a 2 time All American for Notre Dame as a heavyweight wrestler, capturing 4th place in 1977 and 3rd place in 1978 [1], placing ahead of future Olympic gold Medalist Jeff Blatnick. Notre Dame has since dropped their wrestling program.


High School Years


Golic attended St.Joseph's High (Cleveland, Ohio) and was a letterman in football and wrestling.

At St. Joseph's High Bob Golic was the big brother to the legendary Bill Kocevar.


Post-NFL Years


After retiring from football Golic pursued an acting career, most notably as Mike Rogers on Saved by the Bell: The College Years. Golic also hosted sports talk radio programs and did sports reporting for TV stations in Los Angeles.

Golic returned to his native Northeast Ohio in January 2005 to host a general-interest radio talk show on WNIR 100.1 FM in Akron. He is also a football analyst and a fill-in sports anchor for WOIO Channel 19 in Cleveland. He lives with his family in Solon.

Bob was nicknamed "Unfunny Bob" on the popular television program Cheap Seats on ESPN Classic.

Bob is the brother of Mike Golic, who is also a former NFL football player, and is also a radio host (ESPN Radio's Mike and Mike in the Morning).

Golic played the role of Cal U Resident Advisor Mike Rogers in the NBC television series, Saved by the Bell: The College Years and in the NBC made-for-tv-movie Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas in 1993.
