Brett Goldin [1]was a well loved South African actor and part of the Crazy Monkey comedy troupe. He was found murdered alongside a friend, Richard Bloom 27 in April, 2006. They were hijacked, assaulted and shot execution-style with single shots to their heads and were found naked, except for their socks, Some media coverage of the murders, where pictures of the victims' naked bodies were published, was "particularly disturbing and highly insensitive"..Van Marsh, Alphonso: "South Africans: 'Leave' is no answer to violence." His credits include commercials for Pepsi and South African music chain CNA, short clips Crazy Monkey created for MTV, and a starring role in the South African hit movie Straight Outta Benoni.

Brett attended Crawford College High School in Johannesburg before moving to the University of Cape Town to study further.
From 2002 to 2004, Brett wrote his fist stage play, a one-man show entitled 'Bad Apple'. 'Bad Apple' supposed what would happen if a Colombine style killing spree were to happen at a wealthy public school in Johannesburg. The production opend at the Intimate Theatre in Cape Town, directed by Matthew Wild on the 11 August 2004. The production recived excellent reviews from the local press.
