Brittany Murphy: 1977-2009

Actress Brittany Murphy, best known for her performances in Clueless, 8 Mile, and Riding in Cars With Boys, died Dec. 20 after going into cardiac arrest, according to media reports. She was 32. Murphy, whose work alternated between light comedy and darker, more dramatic roles, also starred in such hits as Sin City, Girl, Interrupted, and Don't Say a Word.. In a review of Little Black Book Roger Ebert praised Murphy's onscreen persona: "She has the quality of seeming immediately there on the screen, open to possibility, unrehearsed, unstudied, natural, appealing. She hasn't had the roles yet to prove it, but she is a born movie star."

Warner Brothers Cancels 3D "Happy Feet"

It was reported today that Warner Brothers has canned their 3D IMAX version of the tap-dancing penguin animated comedy "Happy Feet" for unknown reasons. IMAX Corporation had announced last October that the 3D version of the film would be released, however that is no longer the case. A 2D IMAX version of the film will still be released, but Warner Brothers has cancelled the 3D version.

Brittany Murphy to Give "Tinker Bell" Her Voice

Now that they've made direct-to-video sequels from allllll their classic features, the Disney gang will finally give a voice to a character who's remained mute for over 50 years -- but at least they got a solid gal for the gig: Brittany Murphy will be providing the pipes in "Tinker Bell," Disney's new animated feature that should hit theaters in Fall of 2007.
