Carl Colpaert is an American film director and the founder of Cineville, a production and distribution company based in Los Angeles.
He was born in Belgium and graduated from the American Film Institute in 1984.
Carl Colpaert has produced over thirty independent films including Hurly Burly (Venice Film Festival),
Swimming with Sharks (Telluride Flm Festival), Mrs.Palfrey at the Claremont (Seatlle Film Festival),
Gas Food Lodging (Sundance Film Festival), The Whole Wide World (Sundance Film Festival).
Several actors had their break on Cineville productions such as Viggo Mortensen, Kevin Spacey, Renee Zellweger, Salma Hayek.
He received the grand jury price at Cinevegas 2006 for his film GI Jesus.
In 2006 Carl Colpaert took a 50% interest in Keystone Studios.
