Chad Lowe (born January 15, 1968 in Dayton, Ohio, USA) is an actor. He starred in Life Goes On as a man suffering from AIDS; for this performance, he won an Emmy Award.

He has also had recurring roles on ER, Melrose Place and as Craig Spence on Now and Again.

He has been married to actress Hilary Swank since 1997. Swank infamously forgot to thank Lowe during her acceptance speech after winning her first Academy Award in 2000 (for Boys Don't Cry), and she spent nearly every public appearance afterward making up for it. Upon winning her second Oscar in 2005 (for Million Dollar Baby), Lowe was the first person she thanked. On January 9, 2006, Lowe and Swank announced their separation, and in May of the same year, they announced their intention to divorce. According to CNN.com, Lowe's drug addiction to cocaine partly contributed to his divorce.

He is an avid bicyclist and enjoys rock climbing. He loves Africa and idolizes the United Nations.

Lowe recently made his directorial debut with the film Beautiful Ohio, set to be released sometime in 2007.

His brother is actor Rob Lowe (The West Wing).
