Christopher Kennedy Masterson (born January 22, 1980, Long Island, New York) is an American actor most famous for his role as oldest brother Francis in the sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. He is the younger brother of actor Danny Masterson of That '70s Show fame.

Biography

In 2006, Chris took on a starring role in two independent film projects: Waterborne and Intellectual Property. Waterborne is a story about a group of Los Angeles residents who attempt to cope with life after a terrorist attack against their water supply. Waterborne premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival and won the Audience Award. Chris embarked his second project, Intellectual Property, as the leading role and as a producer. Set in the midst of the Cold War, Masterson is Paul, an inventor who goes to great lengths to protect his inventions.

Before Waterborne and Intellectual Property, Chris also starred in the Wayans' Brothers film, Scary Movie 2 where he played "Buddy" a college co-ed, who has an uncanny knack for lacking social skills -especially when dealing with girls. He also appeared in Nice Guy's Finish Last, a film directed by Robert B. Martin Jr. about a nice guy's quest for the perfect date. Other film credits include: My Best Friends Wedding, American History X, Girl, Cutthroat Island, Dragonheart II, The Sunchaser and Singles.

Additional television credits include the VH1 anthology series "Back in Black," in which he and Eric Roberts played serial killers, "The Road Home" and Disney's "What's Up?" for which he served as host. He has also guest starred on numerous shows, including "Touched by an Angel," "Dr. Quinn: Medicine Women," "Millennium," "Murphy Brown," "The Client," and the successful USA show "The Dead Zone.” Perhaps the most comedic was his guest appearance in three episodes of FOX's hit series "That 70's Show" where he played Todd, the manager of a cheese shop.

Theatre credits include "Arcadia" at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles and the NYU production of "The Sound of Music."

Born and raised in New York, Christopher currently resides in Los Angeles. In his free time he enjoys riding his horses, racing cars and motorcycles and hanging out with friends.
