Cotter Smith (b. 29 May 1949, Washington, District of Columbia) is an American film and television actor. His father was a U.S. federal judge.
He played Richard Davies, the estranged father of Meredith, Tru and Harrison on the 2003-2004 television series, Tru Calling.
