Cynthia Rhodes (born November 21, 1956 in Nashville, Tennessee) is an American actor, singer and dancer. Her films include Flashdance (1983), Staying Alive (1983), Runaway (1984) and Dirty Dancing (1987).
In 1989, Cynthia married singer/songwriter Richard Marx. Together they have 3 sons: Brandon, Lucas, and Jesse.
Her skills as a dancer were seen in music videos by Toto (including the video for the 1982 hit single "Rosanna") and in her husband's video for the song "Don't Mean Nothing."
Cynthia enjoyed a stay of success in the late 1980s as a singer with the pop group Animotion. Their song "Room to Move" was a Top Ten hit on the Billboard charts.
