Damian Chapa (born October 29, 1963 in Dayton, Ohio) is an American actor. Damian Chapa is of Mexican descent.

Writer and Director

In recent years, Damian has begun writing and directing, in addition to starring in, his own films. These movies include 1998's Kill You Twice, 2000's The Lonely Life of Downey Hall, 2002's Man of Faith, 2004's Shade of Pale, 2004's El Padrino, and 2006's I.R.A.: King of Nothing. None of these movies have seen wide release in the United States.

Chapa, on the IMDb forums [1] [2] [3], is relentlessly scorned for how he works on these movies. Among some of the routine complaints about him, many of which can be read on the preceding links:

• He does not pay his crew.
• Many actors and crew members walk off the project for various reasons (bad writing, directing, etc.)
• The unoriginality of his writing and directing.
• Some crew members of his movies complain he doesn't explain how he wants the set run, and then fires them because they didn't run the set correctly.
• After filming is completed, many say he leaves several people angry because he has unpaid bills. Further, one poster has claimed he is also has debts to pay within his family.
• That he constantly screams at other actors and crew.

Nonetheless, there are some who come to Damian's defense when these complaints are posted. Keep in mind also that because people who have posted these complaints have done so on message boards, the claims could be exaggerated, if not entirely false. It is interesting to note however, the nearly universal disdain for Damian in the IMDb community.
