The Barnyard is Opening Early ... Finally

Paramount sent out a press release to inform us animation freaks that their CG comedy "Barnyard" will now be opening on July 28th, which pits the animated critters against "Miami Vice" and "Little Miss Sunshine." The flick was previously penciled in for 10/6, but that was Barnyard's third different release date. (The thing's bounced around Paramount's schedule for quite a while.)

RT's Jen and Matt were treated to a razzle-dazzle evening on Monday night for a press presentation of Bill Condon's upcoming Motown showbiz musical, "Dreamgirls." They braved torrential rains to arrive at a tent located just outside the famous Orpheum Theater in downtown Los Angeles, where guests were greeted at the door by throngs of waiters offering trays of martinis and wine -- but would freely flowing libations be enough to melt the hearts and tough opinions of the media?

Instead of keeping "The Shaggy Dog" out of the public consciousness, for good reason, the remake gods dictated that we needed a brand-new version. And that it should star Tim Allen. Von Trier Decides to Cut Controversial Scene From "Manderlay"

Yahoo! News informs us that director Lars von Trier has opted to remove a scene involving the slaughter of a donkey from his upcoming movie "Manderlay." In a letter to a group of animal activists the filmmaker says "I cut all the scenes showing the dead donkey out of the film...My personal feeling is that I acted conscientiously, and I don't suppose we'll ever agree on that."
