Dardano Sacchetti (born 1944) is an Italian screenwriter most well-known for his work in the horror genre. Beginning his career in the early 1970's, Sacchetti has been associated with some of the best-known horror film directors to emerge from Italy in the latter part of the century. He first collaborated with Dario Argento on the script for 1971's The Cat o' Nine Tails, which attracted the attention of famed director Mario Bava, who then hired Sacchetti to help write the story for the 1971 feature A Bay of Blood. Sacchetti's resume "boasts" some of the most controversial and gruesome splatter films in cinema history. Perhaps his most famous film is the notorious 1979 hit Zombi II, director Lucio Fulci's attempt to cash in on the worldwide success of George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead. In recent years his output has slowed, though he still writes the occasional script and also teaches screenwriting.
