Dave Eddy was born in Albion, Michigan, the youngest of four sons. He grew up there and graduated from Washington Gardner High School. Immediately he went to work for the local radio station WALM as a salesperson, eventually doing some on-air work, then becoming chief announcer and news director. In August of 1960 he moved to WBCK in Battle Creek, Michigan eventually becoming chief announcer and program director. He began hosting the Morning Show in 1961 and continues to wake up the Cereal City weekdays beginning at 5:30am. Dave has become known as The Morning Mayor.

Dave has performed as emcee at hundreds of events including band concerts, dance recitals, political events, pageants, etc., and is sought after as a speaker. He has had the pleasure of introducing and interviewing such people as Bob Hope, Red Skelton, Richard Simmons, Johnny Cash, George Burns, George Bush and Dick Cheney among many others.

He is married to Sue Ann and between them they have six children and eight grandchildren. He enjoys geneaology and traces the Eddy family back to Samuel Eddy who arrived in Plymouth, MA in 1630. One great-great-grandfather fought with George Washington in the Revolutionary War and through him is a member of the Sons Of the Revolution. Two other great-grandfathers served in the Civil War. Through them Dave has become an active member of the Sons of Union Veterans and currently is commander of the local camp. His roots in this area go back to the 1840s. Dave is active in many organizations and has served and is serving on many boards. He also enjoys the hobby of amateur radio.

On the anniversary of Dave's 40th anniversary at WBCK, a fund was set up in his name at the Battle Creek Community Foundation. Dave currently is serving as a trustee of the Foundation.

A major event in his life occurred in the summer of 2005 when he was honored with the rare and coveted 33rd degree in Masonry.

In June 2006 Dave marked fifty years in the broadcast industry.
