Deborah Kara Unger (born May 12, 1963 in Vancouver, British Columbia) is a Canadian actress. Before becoming an actress, she studied economics and philosophy at University of British Columbia. She later became the first Canadian to be accepted into Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art. Her mother is a nuclear scientist and father is a gynaecologist. When Unger is not working, she resides in either Vancouver or Los Angeles, California, USA.
