Dominic West (born October 15, 1969) is a British actor born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.
He was educated at Eton College. West made his debut in 1991 in a short called 3 Joes. His other film appearances include True Blue, Chicago and Mona Lisa Smile, and most notably playing Jimmy McNulty on the American television police drama The Wire. He also portrayed the character of the heavy-metal guitarist Kirk Cuddy in the 2001 film Rock Star.
On stage, he appeared in the Peter Hall directed "The Cherry Orchard" (1996) at the Old Vic. And in 2006, he return on stage for Harley Granville Barker's "The Voysey Inheritance" directed by Peter Gill at the Royal National Theatre [1].
