Edward Woodward (born June 1, 1930) is an English actor born in Croydon, Surrey.

He is best known for his role in the 1960s spy series, Callan, and also for his lead role in the 1980s American television series The Equalizer. He also had minor success as a singer, including appearing and using his voice to good effect as a 'turn' in the BBC's Victorian era music hall programme, The Good Old Days. He recorded several LPs, many of which are now collectors' items available on eBay and elsewhere.

Woodward has two sons who became successful actors, Tim Woodward and Peter Woodward. During the 1980s, he caused something of a scandal by leaving his wife for the actress Michele Dotrice, the daughter of his contemporary Roy Dotrice. He also has an actress-daughter, Sarah, from his first wife, and a daughter, Emily, with Michele Dotrice.

Other appearances include the feature films film The Wicker Man (1973, in which he played the lead role), Breaker Morant (1979, in which he played the title role), the BBC drama series Messiah, CI5: The New Professionals, Common as Muck, and La Femme Nikita (in season 5).
