Elissa Sursara Biography

Australian conservationist Elissa Sursara is best known to audiences as a celebrity biologist and broadcaster of environmental film, television, print media and radio. She first came into popularity in 2005 following a brief career as a child actress. Her public endeavors and collaborations with major organizations, including the WWF, have succeeded in the building of social, political and financial support for threatened species and habitats around the world. In addition to small roles on American Gothic and Touched by an Angel, Sursara's professional film and television credits include Animal Planet's Whale Wars and BBC Nature's Planet Earth, as well as associations with the Academy Award winning documentaries The Cove and Food, Inc.
