Ellen Greene (b. February 22, 1951 in Brooklyn, New York, USA) is an American singer and actress. She has starred in movies, on television and on the stage.
Greene has appeared in New York stage productions, most famously as "Audrey" in the original off-Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors. In 1976 she starred as Jenny in the New York Shakespeare Festival production of The Threepenny Opera.
Best known for her role as Audrey in the 1986 comedy, Little Shop of Horrors her other film roles include Ellen in the 1988 drama Talk Radio. She appears in two cult films, the 1990 drama Pump Up the Volume as a caring teacher and Léon (1994), directed by Luc Besson, as Matilda's step-mother.
Greene has appeared in the TV movies Glory! Glory! in 1989 and Mystery Woman: Sing Me a Murder in 2005. She has been a guest star in episodes of a number of TV series, including Miami Vice, Cybill, Law & Order, Suddenly Susan, and The X-Files..
In late 2004, she released a solo album, entitled In His Eyes.
