Gary Day (born June 27 1965) is a British bass guitar player. He is best known for playing bass for Morrissey and is particularly noticeable for his tattoos.

Day originally played for Morrissey from 1991 until he was fired 1994. He was then re-hired in 1999 for Morrissey's Oye Esteban tour. He remains Morrissey's bassist today.

He has played with a number of London-based rockabilly bands including The Caravans, The Frantic Flintstones, Colbert Hamilton, The Nitros and The Sharks.

He has also fronted his own group, The Gazmen, which featured Alain Whyte on guitar. (Whyte has been one of Morrissey's guitarists and co-songwriters since 1991.) The Gazmen released a single in Japan called, "Rigamortis Rock."

Day also occasionally co-writes with Morrissey. He co-wrote the song "You Know I Couldn't Last" with Morrissey and Alain Whyte. The track is featured on Morrissey's 2004 album, You Are the Quarry.

As of August 2006, Day is touring with Morrissey.
