Total Recall: Gerard Butler's Best Movies
The rest of the heavy hitters Hollywood has planned for us in 2012 are being stored away until later in December, but Gerard Butler can't wait -- he's back in theaters this weekend with his latest rom-com, Playing for Keeps. Although its Tomatometer fate can probably be guessed by the fact that it isn't being screened for critics, don't feel too badly for Butler -- his filmography has plenty of critical highlights to fall back on, and this week's list offers proof. From period drama to family-friendly fantasy and bone-crunching action, he's stayed plenty busy over the last 15 years and change -- and now it's time to pay tribute, Total Recall style!

Box Office Guru Preview: Ugly Truth and G-Force Battle Potter
As Harry Potter inches closer to graduating wizard school, the box office prince will face three new releases opening on Friday each targeting its own specific audience. Sony goes after the adult date crowd with its battle-of-the-sexes comedy The Ugly Truth, Disney offers kids a handful of cute talking animals in G-Force, and Warner Bros. hopes to pull in the horror set with its fright flick Orphan. Each pic will have breathing room but none may be able to stop Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince which despite what undoubtedly will be a huge dropoff, aims to hold onto its top spot on the charts.

Box Office Guru Preview: Zack and Miri Want Your Vote
In the final weekend before a new president is elected, all polls show that the raunchy comedy Zack and Miri Make a Porno is the leading ticket among the frame's new candidates. Horror fans will get a fright flick with The Haunting of Molly Hartley which creeps into theaters on Friday, Halloween Day. Final "300" Poster Unveiled!
Ah, the battle of Thermopylae: 300 Spartans, squaring off against an enormous herd of bloodthirsty Persians, and redefining courage and sacrifice in the process. You probably fell asleep when your high school history teacher tried to tell you about it, but luckily, Frank Miller used it as the inspiration for a graphic novel; since filmmakers seem to really enjoy adapting Miller's books, the battle of Thermopylae will be hitting screens March 9 in the form of Warner Bros. "300" Promo Clip is Pretty Drop-Dead Awesome
It's never wise to get too hyped for a movie based on only one promo clip, but ... wow. The movie is Zack Snyder's "300," which is based on the graphic novel by Frank Miller. And maybe I'm nuts, but this thing looks like "Sin City" meets "Gladiator" -- only cooler.

"Dead" Director to Tackle Frank Miller's "300" Spartans
Variety brings word of a rather cool-sounding project: "Dawn of the Dead" director Zack Snyder will direct an adaptation of Frank Miller's ancient Greece epic "300" for Warner Bros. Perhaps bolstered by the worldwide box office tallies for their "Troy" and the returns on Mr. Miller's "Sin City" adaptation, WB even has a leading man all signed up: Gerard Butler.
