Gibson Jerome "Gibby" Haynes (born 1957) is an American musician and the lead singer of the group Butthole Surfers.

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, he is the son of actor Jerry Haynes, best known as Dallas-based kids' TV host "Mr. Peppermint." The tall Haynes was a star on his high school's basketball team, and he attended Trinity University to study accounting. He had almost earned an MBA when he formed the Butthole Surfers, a group who became notorious for their elaborate stage shows and scatological, psychedelic music.

By his own admission, Haynes once touched President Jimmy Carter's suitcase with his genitals (see Michael Azerrad's Our Band Could Be Your Life for the full story). You can hear Haynes's saxophone playing on several albums, including Psychic... Powerless... Another Man's Sac, one of the Butthole Surfers' earlier works.

Haynes appears with Ministry (offering a memorable lead vocal on "Jesus Built My Hotrod") and the 2006 Revolting Cocks CD entitled Cocked and Loaded.

He currently lives in Brooklyn, NY.
