Five Favorite Films with Greg Mottola Opens in new window
Most directors debut their deeply personal passion project before moving on to studio gigs, but indie helmer-turned-Apatow Buncher Greg Mottola (The Daytrippers, Superbad) flipped the script with Adventureland, his semi-autobiographical tale of love, angst, '80s pop and corndogs that opens nationwide this week. Adventureland follows recent college grad James Brennan (Jesse Eisenberg) -- an uptight, overeducated intellectual who reads poetry "for fun" -- who takes a job at a low-rent carnival one summer working with excitable bosses (SNL's Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig), unmotivated slackers (Martin Starr of Freaks and Geeks), a surly, punk-loving love interest (Twilight's Kristen Stewart), and lots and lots of righteous retro tunes. (Falco's "Rock Me Amadeus" has never borne such loathing, or been heard so often, since 1985.) More...

Squid and the Whale Star Signs on for Greg Mottola's Superbad Follow-Up Opens in new window
It's been sort of lost in all the hoopla surrounding Judd Apatow, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, and Michael Cera, but one of the nicest stories to come out of the hit comedy Superbad is the return of its director, Greg Mottola, who took the job after a ten-year layoff from film. Now that Superbad is a success, it's opening more doors for its principals -- including Mottola, whose next project has just been announced. More...

10 Reasons Why We McLove Superbad Opens in new window
To paraphrase a popular ditty currently climbing the R&B charts, Michael Cera and Jonah Hill are comedic movements by themselves, but a force when they're together. The pair of comic talents -- one a lovable potty mouth, the other a master of the deadpan -- are about to give audiences one of the funniest movies of the year. We've got our own reasons for loving Superbad, and here they are. More...

Interview: The F&%^*#$ Awesome Guys of Superbad Opens in new window
The self-professed "boring" guys of this Friday's Superbad are awfully hilarious together, making for an especially amusing press tour. We caught up with the trio at a San Francisco roundtable where the stars of this week's hormonally-charged teen comedy held a table of journalists thoroughly entertained with talk of Superbad, celebrity, and a particularly vulgar Lindsay Lohan impression. More...

If you're a big fan of Judd Apatow and/or the "Arrested Development" gang, then here's a new comedy you might want to read about. Producer Apatow, actor/screenwriter Seth Rogen and the young yet hilarious Michael Cera will present the teen-centric comedy "Super Bad," which I predict will be better than 80% of the teen-centric movies you see every year. More...
