J. Hoberman (Jim Hoberman) is the lead film critic for The Village Voice. He began working for the Voice as third-stringer under Andrew Sarris specializing in experimental film. He has published several books, including a collaboration with Chicago Reader film critic Jonathan Rosenbaum, entitled Midnight Movies.
