James Gruen (b. 8 March 1894, Michigan - d. 19 March 1967, Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California) was an Hollywood screenwriter.

James Gruen was married to actress Beatrice Van and they had one child together: Kreigh Vander-Pluym (born in 1912).
