James Gunn Builds a Super Cast
"Slither" director James Gunn's next project, titled "Super," is living up to its name in the casting department: Gunn has just added Nathan Fillion and Linda Cardellini to a group that already included Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler, and Kevin Bacon.

SXSW Promises Vendettas, Betties, Dreamz & Slithers
In addition to a ton of low-budget, independent, documentary, and dramatic films, this year's South By Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival promises a rather flashy infusement of high-end studio fare, too! So while it's always important to shed some attention on the little guys (which we'll be doing soon enough), it's also fun to note that SXSW will be offering high-end "gimme" titles like "V for Vendetta," "The Notorious Bettie Page," "American Dreamz," and the geekily-anticipated "Slither."

Trailer Bulletin: "Slither" (red band!)
You know what a "red band" trailer is, right? Just in case you don't, it's pretty much the equivalent of an R-rated trailer, in that it contains stuff kiddies just shouldn't see, and therefore can only be viewed when attached to an R-rated movie. Dawn of the Dead Scribe Slithers Into the Director's Chair
The deadheads over at Dread Central got to sit down for a few minutes with screenwriter James Gunn ("Scooby-Doo," "Dawn of the Dead"), and it seems that Mr. Gunn is prepping to start work on his directorial debut, the slick & slimy sounding "Slither," which the young filmmaker describes thusly: "What I'm really being influenced by here is a combination of '80s horror movies because what happens is this alien disease takes forms and works its way into the populace whatever way it can.
