Jane Elliot (born January 17, 1947 in New York, New York) is an award-winning American actress. She has played Tracy Quartermaine on two TV series: General Hospital (1978-1980, 1989-1993, 1996, 2003-present) and The City (1996-1997).
She has also had other roles on several other daytime and prime time soap operas, such as Judy Trent on Knots Landing (1980-1981), Carrie Todd Marler on Guiding Light (1981-1982), Cynthia Preston on All My Children (1984-1986), and Anjelica Deveraux on Days of Our Lives (1987-1989).
She has also had guest-starring roles on several TV crime dramas, such as N.Y.P.D., The Mod Squad, The Bold Ones, Kojak, Barnaby Jones, Police Woman, and two different characters on Law & Order.
In 1981, she won a Daytime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role in a Daytime Drama Series" for her work on General Hospital after her departure in 1980, and has two other nominations to date. In 1992, she won a Soap Opera Digest Award for "Outstanding Supporting Actress: Daytime", also for GH. Previously, in 1990, she had won her first Soap Opera Digest Award, this time for "Outstanding Villainess: Daytime", for her work on Days of Our Lives. She also has two other Soap Opera Digest nominations to date.
Her career has also extended beyond television appearances to include dramatic roles for film and Broadway, television production credits, and numerous commercial voiceovers.
Jane Elliot resides in the Los Angeles area with her daughter, Annie Rose. Her son Adrian resides in San Francisco and attends the San Francisco Art Institute.
