Jay Craven (born [[]]) is a Vermont film director, screenwriter and professor of film studies at Marlboro College.

Craven is known for telling local stories on a modest budget, often with award-winning results. He has adapted several of the novels of author Howard Frank Mosher to film, and refers to his local storytelling as "cultural filmmaking". He often casts from a regular troupe of Vermont actors including Tantoo Cardinal and Rusty DeWees, but has also worked with Rip Torn and Kris Kristofferson. Craven also runs Kingdom County Productions, his own production company.

Craven attended Boston University and Goddard College and lives in the Northeast Kingdom with his family.
