Jennifer Leann Carpenter (born December 7, 1979 in Louisville, Kentucky) is an American actress. She is mostly known for her role as the possessed Emily Rose in the film The Exorcism of Emily Rose.

Jennifer was trained in high school at the prestigious Walden Theatre Company in Louisville, Kentucky.

She is currently playing Debra Morgan in the Showtime television series, Dexter. The series premiere aired on October 1, 2006.
