Jill Gascoine (born 11 April, 1937) is a British actress and novelist. She is best known for her role as Maggie Forbes on the British TV series The Gentle Touch and C.A.T.S. Eyes. She had previously appeared in The Onedin Line and on General Hospital (UK).
Born in Lambeth, England, Gascoine's early acting career included work with future left-wing film director Ken Loach. During the 1960s she enjoyed a run of several years in leading roles at Dundee Repertory Theatre and later owned a local hotel in Dundee.
A successful television career was marked by the role of Letty Gaunt in The Onedin Line (1970 - 1978) and by the leading role of female cop Maggie Forbes in The Gentle Touch (1980 - 1984). She also played Maggie Forbes in the follow-up series C.A.T.S. Eyes (1985 - 1987).
Less elevated roles included a part in Confessions of a Pop Performer (1975).
Gascoine is married to fellow actor Alfred Molina and now lives in Los Angeles.
Gascoine also has written several successful novels, including Addicted.
