Joan Tewkesbury (born April 8, 1936 in Redlands, California), is a film and television director, screenwriter, producer and actress.
She had a long association with Robert Altman, writing two of his most acclaimed films, Nashville (1975) and Thieves Like Us (1974).
As a director, she has directed features, television movies, and TV series.
