John Irvin (born May 7, 1940 in Newcastle upon Tyne) is an English film director. Among his films are 2003's The Boys from County Clare, the 1979 miniseries version of John le Carré's Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, and the the television movies Noah's Ark (1999), and Robin Hood (1991) starring Patrick Bergin and Uma Thurman.
