John Lyons (born July 11 1949) is a Labour Party politician in the United Kingdom.

At the 2001 general election, he was elected to the British House of Commons as Member of Parliament for Strathkelvin and Bearsden.

Under the Scottish Parliament (Constituencies) Act 2004, that constituency was abolished for the 2005 general elction. Lyons stood in the new East Dunbartonshire, where he lost to the Liberal Democrat Jo Swinson.

As an MP, he accepted accommodation and hospitality from First Group, McDonalds, and the governments of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. He had previously been a UNISON official.

Lyons is now a paid consultant for First Group and produced a 2005 report for the company which found 'no evidence of [anti-union] intimidation or harassment', a view contrary to that of the SEIU and Teamsters unions.
