McFarlane Not As Involved With New Wizard of Oz As Previously Reported

The reaction was rather divided yesterday when we reported Todd McFarlane was working on a "revisionist" take on The Wizard of Oz. 2005 Oscar Nominations Are In!

Like most pathetic movie geeks, I was up at the crack of dawn (ok, 8:30am eastern time) to see how my nomination prediction ballot would measure up. (I was perfect on all 20 acting nods and all 10 screenwriting nods, but I erroneously predicted that "Walk the Line" would get nominated over "Capote" for Best Picture, and I picked Croneberg for director over Benett Miller.) Thanks to the official Cannes Film Festival website for posting the all-new trailer for David Cronenberg's "A History of Violence." The New Line Cinema release, which is presently scheduled to hit screens on September 30th, stars Viggo Mortensen ("The Lord of the Rings"), Maria Bello ("Auto Focus"), Ed Harris ("The Truman Show"), and William Hurt ("Dark City").
