Kate Ashfield (born 1972) is a Ian Charleson Award-nominated English actress best-known for co-starring in the 2004 movie Shaun of the Dead.
Born in Oldham, Ashfield graduated from Rose Bruford College (having previously attended King Edwards Five Ways) in 1993.
She has since appeared in many film, television and theatre productions. Her first movie role came in 1994 as Ella in John Wells' film Princess Caraboo.
She has performed in numerous plays associated with the In-yer-face theatre movement, and was invited to speak on the subject at the University of the West of England's 2002 Theatre's Shock Therapy conference.
