Kevin Connor Biography

Kevin Connor worked his way up the British film industry ranks as a sound technician and assistant editor. A full editor by the late '60s, Connor worked on Richard Attenborough's first directorial efforts, Oh, What a Lovely War (1969) and Young Winston (1971). Connor himself turned to directing in 1975, helming three of Amicus/AIP's H.G. Wells derivations: The Land That Time Forgot (1975), At the Earth's Core (1976), and The People That Time Forgot (1977). His work in the realm of "fantastic cinema" was distinguished by a slyly tongue-in-cheek approach, notably in the 1980 cult classic Motel Hell. A prolific laborer in the field of the TV miniseries, Kevin Connor has directed such multipart efforts as Goliath Awaits (1981), Master of the Game (1984), Great Expectations (1989), The Hollywood Detective (1989), and Diana: Her True Story (1992). ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
