Kim Victoria Fields (born May 12, 1969 in New York, New York) is an American actress. She was one of the first successful African American child actresses on television.

She was discovered by an acting agent for the sitcom The Facts of Life after appearing in a commercial for Mrs. Butterworth's pancake syrup. From 1979 to 1988, she played Tootie Ramsey on the program. This was Kim's most notable role. Even twenty-five years later, Tootie is known to many television viewers for her catchphrase, "We are in trou-ble!" She was also known for the braces she wore on the series for five seasons.

After taking time away from acting to attend Pepperdine University, she had a starring role in the hit FOX sitcom Living Single from 1993 to 1998 as Regine Hunter. Kim also stood behind the camera, as she directed the "All That" spinoff and a number of "Kenan & Kel" episodes. Nowadays, she keeps a lower profile. As of date, she's guest-starred on television series such as One on One and appeared as herself on HBO's The Comeback.

Personal Life

In her personal life, Fields dated fellow Living Single cast member John Henton for one year, and was married to Johnathon Franklin Freeman from 1995 to 1998. Her sister is actress Alexis Fields from Sister, Sister and her mother is actress Chip Fields from Good Times.

Music

After the cancellation of Living Single, Fields began performing rap music and R&B with a group called Impromp2. She had previously released a 7" Single as a child called "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not", which fed off of her "Tootie" persona. As of 2006 she has changed her look and style considerably, sporting either a large blonde afro or platinum blonde braids or dreadlocks. She performs under the stage name of "Blondielocks" and she released a CD called Smooth is Spoken Here.

Trivia

Fields admits one of her most embarrassing moments came during a 1993 Fresh Prince of Bel-Air taping. In the scene, Fields intended to seduce Will Smith by slightly unzipping her skirt in front of him while walking off camera. But Fields unzipped the skirt too fast, causing it to fall down around her ankles. The accident was shown in the blooper reel at the end of the episode.
Kim also underwent real life breast reduction surgery around the same time she did a living single episode where her character got a breast reduction.
