Linda Yellen Biography

Linda is a graduate of Barnard College, where she made her first film called "Prospera", a 10 minute short created during her Sophomore year. "Prospera" had the honor of being screened at the New York Film Festival alongside George Lucas' "THX 1138" and Martin Scorscese's "Italian American". Linda later went on to complete her MFA and PhD at Columbia University. Her films has been selected to be shown at many prestigius festivals, such as the Cannes, Monte Carlo, New York, Aspen, Banff, Palm Springs, Hamptons and Deauville Film Festivals. She has the only 2 films backed by the Sundance Institute - The Simian Line (2000) and Chantilly Lace (1993) (TV). Linda's projects have also received numerous awards, including 2 Peabodys, 7 Emmys, 1 Luminas, 1 Silver Nymph and 2 Christophers. She has written and produced 2 of television's highest rated movies ever - Playing for Time (1980) (TV) and The Royal Romance of Charles and Diana (1982) (TV). Linda was also the co-writer of what was considered to be "Hollywood's Greatest Un-filmed script" - "Skinny and Cat" - based on the lives of Margret Bourke-White and Erskin Caldwell.
