Mark Leahy was the candidate for the New Democratic Party in the 2006 Canadian election in the riding of Ottawaâ??Orléans in Ontario, Canada.
Leahy has lived in Orléans, Ontario for over 10 years. He is a bilingual, local business owner who has run a government communications, design and software development firm for 15 years. Mark briefly studied Political Science at the University of Ottawa before beginning work at the Department of External Affairs in 1989. Leahy is a member of Team Ottawa-Orleans, the community economic and social development organization that seeks to bridge the multiple levels of government for the betterment of the riding. He is active on several of the organization's work groups including Government Presence, and Advanced Technology, and was an important force in ensuring an Environmental work group was formed. Leahy is also President of the Ottawa-Orleans Federal NDP Riding Association.
