Matthew Lawton is a political columnist based in Portland, Oregon. He writes about his home city, economics, and cultural and political issues nationwide. Primarily, he takes the stance of a moderate libertarian, but parts ways with them on issues like environmentalism, some foreign policy, and drug legalization.
