Box Office Guru Preview: Wolverine Sinks Claws Into Summer Box Office
Six sharp adamantium blades kick off the summer movie season as Fox unleashes its most popular comic book character in his own film with X-Men Origins: Wolverine with Hugh Jackman starring and producing. The North American box office is set for the first in a long string of blockbuster openings as major franchise films debut every weekend in the month of May. Also hitting multiplexes this weekend are the romantic fantasy comedy Ghosts of Girlfriends Past starring Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner and the animated adventure flick Battle for Terra. Invading over 4,000 theaters domestically and more than 9,000 additional screens internationally in a massive global assault is Wolverine which documents the history of the fan-favorite mutant.

That "Wall Street" sequel just got a lot more interesting: Oliver Stone will reunite with Michael Douglas for the follow-up, and Shia LaBeouf is in talks for the role of a "younger upstart looking to navigate the shark-tank world of today's Wall Street."

"Thief" Leaps from Old-School TV to Big-Budget Movie
Universal Pictures and superstar Will Smith will combine their efforts on the action thriller "It Takes a Thief," which is based on a TV series that you've probably never seen. It ran from 1968 to 1970, and apparently it doesn't pop up on syndication very often.

Michael Douglas Returns for Another "Stone" Sequel
Michael Douglas will star in another sequel to the 1984 hit "Romancing the Stone," IGN FilmForce reports. "Racing the Monsoon," which Douglas will also produce, is to be directed by Steven Carr, who helmed "Daddy Day Care." The filmmakers apparently hope to tap Aishwarya Rai for a part in the film as well. Production is slated to begin at the end of the year.
