Michael Ritchie (November 28, 1938 Waukesha, Wisconsin - April 16, 2001) was an American film director.

He attended Berkeley High School in Berkeley California before becoming interested in film graduating from Harvard University in 1960.

In 1994 Ritchie purchased a hacienda-style house at 12305 Fifth Helena Drive in the Brentwood district of LA where Marilyn Monroe died in 1962. He bought it for $995,000.

He was the brother of Elsie Ritchie.

He died (see [1]) of prostate cancer at the age of 62.
