Mili Avital (Hebrew: מילי אביטל) (born 30 March, 1972) is an Israeli-American actress.

Biography

Personal life

Born in Jerusalem and raised in Tel Aviv, Mili Avital built a successful stage and film career in Israel, winning the Israeli Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1992 and being nominated for best actress in 1994. In 1994 she moved to New York. She has dated actor David Schwimmer. As of 2006, she and her husband, screenwriter Charles Randolph, live both in New York and Los Angeles. She is half Moroccan in ancestry.

American film career

While working as a waitress, she was scouted by a talent agent. Her first U.S. role was Sha'uri in Roland Emmerich's film Stargate (1994). Later appearances have included Dead Man with Johnny Depp, and the lead role of Scheherezade in the ABC/BBC miniseries Arabian Nights. In 2001 she played Devorah Baron in the television movie Uprising, which was based on the 1943 Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
