Oksana Akinshina (Russian: Оксана Акиньшина) (born April 19, 1987) is a Russian actress, who became well-known for the leading role in the Swedish film Lilya 4-ever by Lukas Moodysson. Born in Saint Petersburg, Russia (then Leningrad, Soviet Union), she started acting at the age of 12.
She was discovered by Sergei Bodrov Jr., and she made her film debut in the Russian film Syostry. This was a directorial debut of actor Sergei Bodrov Jr. who died in an avalanche while filming his second feature film in the Caucasus. Akinshina had a Best Actress nomination in 2002 European Film Awards; however, she lost to the 8 actresses of the film 8 femmes by Franšois Ozon. Her second film Lilya 4-ever brought her another Best Actress nomination, this time in the Guldbagge Awards, Sweden's national film awards.
Since then she has acted in the much awarded film Het Zuiden (directed by Martin Koolhoven) and the blockbuster The Bourne Supremacy (directed by Paul Greengrass), the sequel to The Bourne Identity.
