Oscar Saul Biography

Screenwriter Oscar Saul wrote or collaborated on the screenplays to numerous movies from the 1940s through the early '70s. His best-known work was on the screen adaptation of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire (1951), which he wrote in conjunction with the playwright. In 1984, Saul again adapted Williams' play for a highly acclaimed television version starring Ann-Margret. In addition to writing film scripts, Saul penned two plays, The Revolt of the Beavers and Medicine Show. He published a novel, The Dark Side of Love, in 1974. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
