TV Staple Paul Gleason Succumbs to Lung Cancer

Paul Gleason, who frequently played figures of authority in his four decades-long television and film career, died Saturday from a form of lung cancer linked to asbestos exposure. The actor, fondly remembered as Principal Richard Vernon in 1985's "The Breakfast Club," was 67 years old.

Molly Ringwald Apparently Wants Some More "Candles"

Yahoo! Movies reports that Molly Ringwald ("For Keeps") is ready to consider a sequel to 1984's "Sixteen Candles." No word yet as to whether writer/director John Hughes ("Sixteen Candles," "Curly Sue") is involved in the reputed project, but the 37-year-old actress has claimed to have read (and enjoyed) a new screenplay.
